About

About

Our campaign design for the New Zealand Best Design Awards was a provocation, a call to arms to be the Best; To better your best, to better your team, because metal proves your mettle.

2022 was the first physical awards ceremony to be held post covid, there was huge anticipation and built up energy to capture. This gave us the perfect opportunity to challenge the often minimalistic and restrained aesthetics seen in previous years campaigns, it was time for celebration. Our campaign became a visual expression of the energy and excitement that the Best Design Awards creates across every discipline of design and creative industry within New Zealand. Over a period of 6 months our campaign needed to keep a highly critical audience engaged and sustained; our aesthetically expansive campaign meant things never got dull through diverse unashamedly loud and proud visual language, juxtaposed futuristic glitch with retro kitsch and brash colour clash.
